About DJ Martin Lake

Hello, my name is Martin and I am a professional DJ that specialises in weddings, events and parties across Hampshire including Southampton and the New Forest.  I am a member of the Wedding DJ Alliance and the National Association Of DJ’s and have performed at hundreds of weddings at leading hotels within the area including the Chewton Glen (voted best UK holiday hotel 2016) and the Officers Mess at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

I have been a wedding and party DJ performing at top hotels for over 15 years. I was also a top modern jive DJ for mojive for many years and could be found at the Mo’club playing anything from Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra, to mixing up the latest charts. While at the mo’club I also DJ’ed events and the very popular roller discos.
One of my strengths as a DJ is the ability to involve everybody in the party through my seamless music selection and to build an incredible atmosphere so the whole room is rocking. I also use my passion for lighting to beautifully light venues to add the wow factor.  I am proud of having one of the best quality wedding sound & lightshows in the area.

My children get fed up with me trying to get them to look at the latest light or laser show that I have programmed although they do enjoy the Halloween laser show with flying bats projected onto the trees at the end of our garden or using my lights for their photography homework.

Apart from Djing and music I enjoy family time, travel, eating out, going to football, playing football in the garden with my son and my friends, cycling, fishing and walking in the New Forest.

I am lucky enough to do a job that I love and get immense satisfaction at the end of a great party when the bride and guests have had such a brilliant time. I cannot imagine doing anything else, every party is different and I approach it with the same enthusiasm as if it was my first. This could be why I have DJ’ed up to 5 nights a week for over 15 years and am still doing the job I love!
